General Information
Donor Age Requirements: 18-60. You are in the database till the day you turn 61.
Donors need to register in the database only once in a lifetime.

Donors are not eligible if they have had heart disease, cancer or if they are a diabetic taking insulin. When in doubt, ask the agency that comes to the drive.
When the agency ask you for the expected number of people, it is best to say the higher end of the estimation. We don't want them to run out of supplies.
Please let the potential donors know when they register, that they are registering to save Ashish or the life of any of the other patient in need of a marrow transplant.
At the drives, blood can be collected by pricking the fingers or by collecting it in a vial from the arm. It depends on the local agency that is assigned to the drive. The National Headquarters assigns the local agency.
The actual Bone Marrow Transplant has 2 collection methods: 1. Marrow Collection via the pelvic bone injection under anesthesia or the PBSC method- blood is removed through a needle placed in a vein in one arm, passed through a machine and it is returned through another needle in the donor's other arm.

Main Coordinator gets volunteers : Doctors, nurses from local organization to educate the group.
To help during blood work nurses need to bring their badges and will be allowed to draw blood at church.
Main Coordinator gets volunteers : Others from local organization to help with paper work during registration.
